____________________________________________________________________

Next Volunteer Orientation Class:
Saturday, May 25th, 2013 10:00am until 12:00pm

If you are under 18 years old you must be accompanied by your parent or legal guardian.

Volunteer Coordinator, Desiree Terrones: desiree@fresnobullyrescue.org

Once you fill out our online volunteer application, you will soon be contacted by our volunteer coordinator for more detailed instructions for the day of the orientation.

If you want to make a big difference in the lives of our bully residents, there are many ways you can get involved. We need volunteers for everything from walking dogs to helping at adoption events! With over 30 dogs at our facility, volunteers play a huge role in enriching the lives of the dogs sheltered at FBR.

Volunteers work includes but is not limited to:

• Walking and Playing with the dogs (they need it, plus it's just plain fun!)
• Help train the dogs (leash training, basic manners, tricks)
• Help feed and clean kennels (help us continue to keep a clean and healthy environment)
• Help with handy-work around the rescue (something always needs fixing!)
• Gardening and help keeing the grounds tidy (shows a friendly place for when hopeful forever families come to visit)
• Helping at adoption and promotion events

Interested in getting your company involved? We host corporate volunteer days too! PG&E & Wathen Castanos are just some of the companies that have already participated!

Become a Foster for a Bully in Need

What is Fostering, exactly?
A foster parent provides a temporary home for puppies or dogs in need. The length of fostering can vary from a few days to several months depending on the amount of care that is needed. The devotion and care given during this time allows the animal a second chance to be adopted by a loving home while giving them the social skills typically learned by living in a home environment.

The rewards of being a foster parent are many. They include offering an animal a second chance and the added benefit of receiving the love and attention right back from the animal you nurture.

Why Foster an Underdog?
Fostering is a way to contribute to rescuing these beautiful doggies who need love and discipline. Living in a kennel can eventually affect the temperament of a dog especially if they need a lot of exercise and attention. Therefore, fostering provides these dogs with a home environment and for some it would be iving with a human family/pack for the first time in their lives. Take for example one of FBR's recent rescues from a private home, Bon-Bon. Bon-Bon lived tied to a tree for several years and hungers for human attention and touch. He has never had any training or discipline except being tied to a tree. Bon-Bon never felt the affectionate touch of a human until he began living at the FBR center.

Most of FBR's rescue would do better living in a foster setting. Is anyone out there willing to help one of these beauties? And more fosters means more bullies saved!
